I know. I know. Many of you are from this particular school of thought: It is *not* time to prepare for Christmas until *after* Thanksgiving. But there are also some of you who have confessed that you listen to Christmas music starting in October. To each his own, I say! However, I decided that since I'm not going to be in Texas at Christmas time ... I would decorate my little apartment BEFORE Thanksgiving. OK, so don't judge me. LOL.
If you've been following my blog, you will know that I have been checking out the goods at garage sales. At the first event, I purchased this HUGE (4 ft) tree. I went *all out* at the Dollar Store and bought a few ornaments and some lights at WalMart. Total cost (tree, ornaments & lights): $15
At the second garage sale, I negotiated a bargain for these icicle and snowflake lights. Check out the amazing Light Art I created. Not Lite Brite. Light Art. ;-)
Last but certainly not least, I lit up my living room with a strand of blue lights. These bad boys were a whopping dollar at the garage sale, and well worth every penny.
Now for the creme de la creme, here is the view of my Light Art from the kitchen. If this doesn't take your breath away, I don't know what will. Yeah, I'm pretty sure you just wiped a tear from the corner of your eye.
So there you have it. I'm all decorated and ready for Christmas in Texas even though I'll be celebrating the birth of Christ in Cali. What a crazy and adventurous life I am enjoying, eh? Love it. Love it. Completely love it.
Rehearsals are going well and we are fine tuning each scene. I'll be taking a quick trip to Cali for Thanksgiving and when I return, we will continue with run-thru's and then the dress rehearsals begin. I've been helping Pam sell tickets before & after each service on Sundays, which has been a ton-o-fun.
Last night, Frank took Pam out to celebrate her birthday and I had the honor of watching Ty, Hannah & Megan (Hannah's friend). We had a blast decorating the kitchen with birthday decor and played "Murder in the Dark" after Ty went to bed. Hannah and Megan really enjoyed watching this OLD LADY scurry around the house trying to "tag" them. Uhhhh yeah, it was HILARIOUS (or not). LOL. Before we ran to Sonic for dinner, I made them stand by Mr. Nutcracker for a quick photo. Such good sports, they are all pretending to hold a sword.
Yes, it's Winter here in Texas but OBVIOUSLY it wasn't too cold yesterday. You may have noticed the flip flops and shorts? LOL.
I'm looking forward to seeing some of you during my quick trip to Cali - and the rest of you I plan on catching up with when I return at Christmas. Have a very Happy Thanksgiving as you enjoy every tasty morsel of yummy food - but in moderation!
I'm thankful for my amazing family and dear friends who truly love me *and* for the gift of time I am enjoying! What are YOU thankful for?
I love all the lights! beautiful!

I love the light art. Funny, when you said "light art", I immediately thought Lite Brite...which followed in the next sentence. Everything comes together to make a great ensemble. Oh darn, no more battery!!
